The art historian Magdalena Kolar takes you on a journey into the artfully crafted worlds of the Prague-based artists’ collective led by Matěj Forman. In this exhibition, 16 Czech artists bring imagination to life with their fantastical, analogue spaces and objects – the guided tour takes you behind the scenes and offers an insight into the collective’s ideas and personal stories: from individual craftsmanship to the great tradition of Czech puppet theatre.
These special guided tours are taking place in collaboration with the Wunder. Festival, which is celebrating two anniversaries this year: 30 years of the International Puppet Theatre Festival in Munich and 75 years of the Society for the Promotion of Puppetry (Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Puppenspiels e. V.). With a varied programme for all generations, the festival puts the spotlight on the unique world of puppet and object theatre – thereby creating the ideal setting for the playful, handmade worlds of the IMAGINARIUM.
MAGDALENA KOLAR is an art historian and is currently working on her PhD at LMU Munich. Her research focuses on Czech art of the early 20th century.

MAGDALENA KOLAR ist Kunsthistorikerin und promoviert an der LMU München. Ihr Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf Tschechischer Kunst Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts.
